College Mennonite Church was organized in 1903, when Goshen College opened on this site and has always been a campus church. In 1960 the church-chapel was built as a joint effort of the college and the congregation. Since then the church-chapel has been jointly owned, used and maintained. The congregation provided for the renovation and expansion of the church in 1993. In addition to joint building ownership and use through the Amity Corporation, the congregation seeks to relate directly with major college events.
Today, College Mennonite Church is a congregation of more than 1,000 members. A strong commitment to worship and spiritual growth is at the core of the congregation's life together. A variety of care networks provide opportunities for face-to-face relationships. The congregation fosters a broad nurture and fellowship program with settings for all ages and interests, as well as inter-generational relationships.
