Implementing Church Vision through Commissions I. Arts Commission The Arts Commission works with the Music/Dance Committee, the Visual Arts Committee and the Drama/Oral Interpretation Committee to call forth and develop the gifts of the congregation. They assist in the planning of the corporate worship as it relates to the use of the arts. more II. Calling Commission The Calling Commission leads the congregation in the identification, discernment and disclosure of gifts and sets in motion the annual discernment process of calling members to leadership positions in the congregation. more III. Caring Commission The Caring Commission monitors the formal and informal care networks of the church. They administer the service fund and provide a link to Mennonite Mutual Aid’s congregational advocacy and education resources. more IV. Fellowship Commission The Fellowship Commission oversees the social events of the church. They identify fellowship and hospitality needs and support efforts to meet these needs. more V. Finance Commission The Finance Commission is responsible for managing the physical and financial resources of the congregation; encouraging giving and stewardship, and assuring the proper distribution and accounting of funds. They prepare a plan to distribute funds in a way that reflects the congregation’s shared interests and present it to the congregation annually for adoption. They also supervise the administrative functions of the congregation. more VI. Nurture Commission The Nurture Commission provides oversight and vision for Christian education. They identify opportunities for various educational programs and set the standards and expectations for the teachers and other volunteers. They maintain the church library and promote Mennonite high school and college education. more VII. Outreach Commission The Outreach Commission works at making God’s love visible beyond the congregational borders. They educate members about world needs while promoting opportunities for service. They allocate financial resources to special interest groups, church agencies, local service agencies and worldwide missions. more The Worship Commission The Worship Commission plans and evaluates our worship services. They oversee the ushers, greeters, and sound and broadcast coordinators. They work closely with the Arts Commission to enrich the corporate worship. more |
