At its most basic level, Morning Song is a a college community of
believers and seekers. Morning Song is an extension of College Mennonite Church in
collaboration with Goshen College. It is
not a church, at least not in a traditional sense. Rather, it is a an
experience, a process and a community. Most of all, it is an experiment in
finding God in a college setting.
Mission
The Morning Song mission statement reads as follows:
Morning Song is an extension of College Mennonite Church. It offers
Goshen College student believers and seekers a convenient Sunday morning
opportunity for Christian fellowship and for leadership in a blended worship
service.
From this mission statement, Morning Song derives several
functions. They are:
A place for students and adults to worship God together
A proving ground that allows students to develop worship-leading skills in a
safe environment
An outreach of College Mennonite Church to Goshen College students and the
community
Meeting times
Morning Song meets on Sunday mornings during the Goshen College academic
year. Worship is held in Reith Recital Hall in the Goshen College Music Center. Snacks are
served at 10:45 and worship begins at 11:00.
