Mennonite Youth Fellowship (MYF)

In MYF, we seek to empower youth to faith in Jesus Christ and to disciple them to follow Christ’s teachings through:

  • Nurture in Sunday School, small groups, and faith nights
  • Building community on LIFE nights
  • Teaching spiritual practices such
    as reading, prayer, and solitude.

Upcoming
MYF Events

MYF Programs include:
Connecting with the Broader Church
The MYF attends the bi-annual Mennonite Youth Convention

Experiencing Service
We put our faith into action through service. Youth feel called to serve as they step out of their comfort zones and are exposed to injustice in our community and throughout our world.

Building Authentic Relationships
A bi-annual retreat for high school juniors and seniors focuses on marriage and building healthy relationships.

Discipleship Training
In baptism classes, offered yearly, youth learn more about what it means to be a follower of Christ and to become a member of College Mennonite Church

Equipping for Leadership
In Executive Council, a youth leadership group works with the youth   pastor and sponsors to plan and make decisions for the MYF.

In !Explore, a theological program for high school youth at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, young people develop their leadership gifts as they work with a pastor in a variety of ministry settings.

MYF Rituals
Hands of Jesus All ninth-graders paint their hands on the MYF room wall to symbolize being the “Hands of Jesus.”

Celebrating Baptism
When youth choose to follow Jesus and to join the church, the congregation celebrates with them in the ritual of baptism.

Practicing Peace
After a 4-week series focusing on peace, seniors fill out the “Christian Peacemaker Registration Form”, share their convictions of what it means to be a peacemaker and are give a Seniors for Peace T-shirt.
